Srinagar, Feb 01 (KNO): The Union Government on Saturday proposed allocation of Rs 41000.07 crore to Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory for next financial year, 2025-26. As part of fund transfers for Union Territories, the Union Finance Ministry today proposed an allocation of Rs 41000. 07 crore to Jammu & Kashmir Union Territory in the Union Budget for 2025-26. The budgetary figures show that there has been no increase in central assistance to J&K for the next fiscal in the Union Budget. Of Rs 41000.07 crore allotted to J&K, Rs 40619.30 crore has been kept as central assistance for J&K to bridge its resource gap, documents in possession of news agency—Kashmir News Observer(KNO) reveal. According to budget documents, Rs 279 crore have been proposed to be allocated as grants towards contribution to the Union Territory Disaster Response Fund and Rs 101.77 crore to meet resource gap funding for infrastructure projects. As per these documents, the financial assistance for Jammu & Kashmir for ongoing fiscal has been revised to Rs 41000.07 crore from Rs 42277.74 crore—(KNO)
